GET A FREE ESTIMATEComplete with a 668 horsepower V8, a six-speed manual transmission and a premium interior, the new Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is truly a worthy competitor to its German counterparts such as the BMW M5 and Audi RS7.
This example, finished in Radiant Red Tincoat over a Jet Black Leather interior, came to us at Denver Auto Shield for our Driver’s Package PPF, Level 2 Ceramic Coating and Sides and Rear Ceramic Window Tint.
Before we can get started with any of our major services, it is extremely important that we thoroughly prep this CT5-V. This step will remove any surface contaminants and get the paint perfectly clean for the PPF and Ceramic Coating install.
Our first step, especially on performance cars with an abundance of brake dust, will always be to clean the wheels. We use
Gyeon Q2M Iron WheelCleaner and a variety of brushes to remove any brake dust, dirt and debris from the wheels.
Once the wheels are clean and rinsed, we can spray the whole car down with
Gyeon Q2M Iron and
Q2M Foam. In combination, these two products effectively remove both heavy, surface-level contaminants as well as microscopic contaminants such as rail dust or residual brake dust on the paint.
After allowing the Foam and Iron to rest on the paint for a while, we will rinse the products, and contaminants, off of the vehicle before starting with our contact wash. To do the contact wash as safely as possible, we utilize the three bucket method, a clean Gyeon Q2M Smoothie and a healthy amount of Gyeon Q2M Bathe. We’ll follow this up with Gyeon Q2M Clay Lube and a Clay Bar to remove any remaining embedded contaminants.
Rounding out the wash process, we’ll dry the entire vehicle with a
BLO Car Dryer. We use a touchless drying solution to avoid introducing any lint or contaminants back onto the clean paint.
The owner of this CT5-V opted for our Sides and Rear Ceramic Tint Package which provides improved heat and UV rejection, a more stylish look and better privacy, keeping yourself and your passengers more safe and comfortable. Before we even touch the windows, we’ll use a specialized computer software to design and print tint patterns for each window, ensuring a seamless and defect-free install.
To get started on the install, our tinter will spray each window with a slip solution, allowing them to move the pre-printed piece of tint onto the window to get a perfect fit. Once everything is lined up, they will use a squeegee to push the slip solution out from under the tint, giving the adhesive the opportunity to bond with the glass.
For the best protection in the most crucial areas on the vehicle, we are installing our Driver’s Package PPF on this CT5-V. If you’re looking for the highest level of protection for your paint, PPF will almost always be the top choice. It provides robust, long-term protection from road hazards such as rock chips, bird droppings, road debris and ice.
To start with the install, we will follow a similar process to that of ceramic tint. We’ll start at the computer and print out clear bra patterns designed specifically for each body panel. This ensures that there will be no stretching, distortion or dangerous razor blades near your paint.
Once all of the paint protection film is printed, we can move over to the vehicle to begin the installation. While the process to install clear bra is very similar to that of tint, there are several key differences.
First, rather than installing film on a flat window, PPF will go on top of complex body panels. This means that our installers have to be especially careful to line up the film with sensors, cameras and other features. Additionally, because some of the panels are quite large, it's crucial that we set ‘anchor points’ to prevent the film from slipping out of place while we install it.
Once every surface included in our Driver’s Package is covered, we will let the car sit overnight to allow the film to set and let any remaining moisture evaporate. The next morning, we’ll come back to the car and give it a thorough inspection, carefully looking for unwrapped edges, bubbles or other imperfections.
Offering the highest level of protection from harmful UV rays, chemical contaminants and things like bugs or bird droppings, our Level 2 Ceramic Coating System was the clear choice for this client.
For ceramic coatings, the prep work is just as important as the actual coating installation which is why we follow a strict procedure before we start coating. The prep work will begin with a single-stage paint correction. This step will remove over 75% of surface swirls, scratches or minor defects, leaving behind a glass-like glossy surface.
The next preparation step will be cleaning and decontaminating the freshly corrected paint. For this, we use Gyeon Q2M Prep and Q2M WaterSpot. These two products are extremely effective at removing anything that could interfere with the ceramic coating such as oils, polish dust, residues and waterspots.
Our Level 2 Ceramic Coating System is an all-inclusive coating package designed to provide your vehicle with the highest level of protection. On all painted surfaces, we install a double layer of ceramic coating as well as dedicated coatings on both the windshield and wheel faces.
To install the Ceramic Coating, we will start by generously pouring the coating onto a specialized applicator. Working panel by panel, our professional detailers will spread the coating onto the paint before removing any excess with two towels. We use both a short-fiber and long-fiber towel to remove the coating so that we can have full confidence that we won’t leave any high spots of your paint.
Using this method, we’ll work our way around all painted surfaces before focusing on the wheel faces and windshield. The process for installing a coating is the same for paint as it is for wheels and glass, so we will apply the coating before removing it using two towels.
Now that this CT5-V Blackwing is completely protected top-to-bottom, we’ll vacuum and wipe down the interior, apply a tire dressing and it’s all ready for delivery.
