Front-mounted naturally aspirated engine, rear-wheel drive and a manual transmission. What more could you ask for in a sports car? This 10th Anniversary Edition Toyota GR86 is one of 860 and could be considered one of the purest expressions of a sports car available today.

This GR86 is finished in Solar Shift and received our Driver’s Package for Paint Protection Film and our Level 2 Ceramic Coating System. The owner of this vehicle decided not to include window tint. The perfect combination of services for your weekend sports car.

Step 1: Decontamination Wash

Every car that lands at Denver Auto Shield will always receive our 2-hour decontamination wash. This is a crucial first step as it completely prepares the vehicle for each service it will receive.

We’ll start out by thoroughly cleaning the wheels with Gyeon Q 2 M Iron WheelCleaner before we soak the whole car in Gyeon Q 2 M Iron and Q 2 M Foam. This will remove much of the surface-level grime and contaminants, allowing us to safely perform a contact wash.

We always use the three-bucket method and Gyeon Q 2 M Bathe to do a contact wash to avoid reintroducing any grime or contaminants back onto the paint. Once we’re finished, we’ll use Gyeon Q 2 M Clay Lube to clay bar the entire surface of the vehicle before drying it with a BLO Car Dryer

Step 2: Paint Protection Film (PPF)

For clear bra, this GR86 is receiving our Driver’s Package. This is the perfect package for any enthusiast-driven car. After years of protecting vehicles, we know exactly which areas are most prone to damage. The Driver’s Package protects your car in those areas from potential damage from bird droppings, rock chips, swirl marks and other minor road hazards.

Before we start installing, we will use a specialized computer program and a large printer, called a plotter, to design and print patterns in the PPF for each specific body panel. This ensures that you’ll get perfectly cut and there will never be a blade near your paint.

Once everything is printed, our installers will spray a generous amount of slip solution onto the paint before laying the PPF on top. They will get the film aligned with each edge and any badges or sensors, they will use a squeegee to push the slip solution out from underneath the film which will adhere it to the paint. We’ll work our way around the car with the same method until we have completed the Driver’s Package.

Step 3: Paint Correction and Ceramic Coating

Now that we’ve installed clear bra, the car can move over to our light booth where it will receive a paint correction and our Level 2 Ceramic Coating System. This is our most complete ceramic package and covers nearly your entire car.

Some of the benefits of ceramic coatings for cars include resistance from harmful UV rays, chemical resistance and hydrophobic properties, which makes your car easier to clean. We only install high-quality silicon dioxide-based coatings, ensuring that you get maximum performance from your coating. Ceramic coatings can be difficult to apply, so we always recommend getting it done by a professional detailing studio like Denver Auto Shield.

Before we start installing the coating, we will perform a 1-stage paint correction on any exposed paint. This will smooth out the paint, removing any scratches or imperfections and adding a large amount of gloss. Our professional detailers will then wipe the entire vehicle down in Gyeon Q 2 M Prep and Q 2 M WaterSpot to remove any remaining lubricants or water spots.

Now that we have the perfect surface to apply a ceramic coating, it’s time to begin installing. The coating will be put onto a specialized microfiber applicator and then spread onto the vehicle’s paint. We work one panel at a time, applying the coating in linear motions before we remove it with a short-fiber towel followed by a long-fiber towel.
