When the EV craze began, everyone had their eyes on Rivian. Well-thought-out, rugged, electric trucks and SUVs were something that didn’t really exist before Rivian entered the market. A few years later and here we are, with Rivians dominating the electric truck market.

This Red Canyon R1T rolled into the studio for the DAS works, including Full Body Paint Protection Film, our Level 2 Ceramic Coating System and Sides and Rear Ceramic Window Tint. When it comes to protection solutions for your vehicle, we’ve got it all.

Step 1: Decontamination Wash

When this R1T arrives, our team of professional detailers will give the vehicle a decontamination wash, starting with the application of Gyeon Q 2 M Foam and Q 2 M Iron to remove surface grime and chemical contaminants, ensuring we have a safe surface to proceed with a contact wash.

We use the three-bucket method during washing to minimize the risk of introducing scratches or swirl marks to the vehicle’s finish, a practice well-known by car enthusiasts. Next, this Rivian will undergo clay barring to remove any embedded contaminants. To close out this wash, we’ll dry the entire car with a BLO Car Dryer. We do this so that no lint or dust gets reintroduced to the paint.

Step 2: Ceramic Window Tint

Now that this R1T is clean, our window tinter will install our Sides and Rear Ceramic Tint Package , offering both high-quality protection from UV rays and superior heat rejection, keeping your cabin cooler during those hot summer months. This package is not just for appearances; it’s a protection solution designed to protect your skin and the interior of your vehicle.

The tinting process starts by using a specialized computer program to print tint patterns for each window. Using a heat gun, we’ll shrink the film to perfectly match the window. For the final part of the install, we’ll spray a slip solution onto the window and put the tint in place. Using a squeegee, our installer will push the slip solution out from underneath the tint, adhering it to the window.

Step 3: Paint Protection Film

With step two of this project completed, we can begin with our installation of Full-Body PPF. Clear bra is a great way to protect your car from harmful elements such as high-impact road debris, bird droppings, rock chips, and scratches. Our Full-Body package is particularly effective at protecting your vehicle since the semi-permanent film covers every painted surface on the car.

Once we get our patterns printed, the install will start by soaking the panel with a slip solution and laying the PPF over the solution. Once the installers are confident that everything is properly lined up and set their anchor points, they use a squeegee to adhere the film to the paint. We’ll work around the entire vehicle with this same method until everything is protected, making sure that paint damage is a thing of the past.

Step 4: Ceramic Coating

Now that we’re done installing PPF, it’s time to ceramic coat this Rivian R1T with our Level 2 Ceramic Coating System. There are many benefits of ceramic coating your vehicle, including protecting your vehicle from UV rays and chemical damage. Our professional-grade, silicon dioxide ceramic coatings for cars have hydrophobic properties, meaning they repel water and make it extremely easy to clean the vehicle when it’s time for a car wash.

Since this Model X has full-body clear bra there is no need to do a paint correction, so we can move straight into surface prep. We’ll start by wiping the whole car with Gyeon Q 2 M WaterSpot to remove any water spots left behind from the slip solution. The vehicle will also get wiped down with Q 2 M Prep to remove any remaining grease or lubricants left on the film.

With both of those steps done, we have a perfect surface to apply a ceramic coating. The coating will be poured on a microfiber applicator in order to be applied to the car, providing a high-quality finish that enthusiasts will appreciate. In order to remove the excess and not leave any high spots, we’ll wipe the panel with a short fiber towel to remove the majority of the excess followed by wiping the panel with a long fiber towel to get deeper into the paint and remove any remaining coating.

Finally, we’ll dress the tires and give the interior a quick vacuum. This Rivian R1T is ready to hit the trails completely protected because your vehicle deserves nothing but the best.
