With 580 horsepower firing out of the twin turbo charged flat 6 cylinder engine, the newest of the 911 Turbo S cars is an absolute rocket ship. So that this car can be fully enjoyed and driven without the worry of damaging the finish during normal use, we call in XPEL Clear Bra and GYEON quartz Ceramic Coatings to make sure these surfaces stay in proper shape.

The latest and greatest from XPEL Technologies is their ULTIMATE PLUS Clear Bra. It is an 8.5 mm thick and optically clear urethane film that will absorb the impact of road debris as it comes in contact with the painted panels of the car and keep it from chipping and permanently damaging the paint. The film looks fantastic when installed at a high level. The gloss and clarity are at the top if their class. This car received our Driver’s Package which protects the Front Bumper, Full Hood, Full Fenders, A Pillars and Roof Strip, Rocker Panels, Rear Bumper Impact Area, Side Mirrors, and Door Cups.

The GYEON quartz Ceramic Coatings will provide high gloss, real world protection from UV and environmental damage, while making the car very easy to keep clean as loose dirt and debris are easily repelled from the surface. On this Turbo S we went with our Level 2 GYEON Coating Package which includes a 5 yr+ Coating on the paint and clear bra, Q2 RIM on the Wheel Faces, and Q2 VIEW on the Windshield. So how do we do it?

Each project starts with a deep cleaning of each surface of the vehicle. We want a perfectly clean substrate to evaluate and protect. We do this through several washes including GYEON Q2M Foam, Q2M Bathe, Q2M Iron, and our Clay Bar process.

While the car is being prepped, we are also designing and preparing the Clear Bra coverage. Using the XPEL DAP Design Software we are able to custom design the best possible coverage for each car. The software provides us perfectly fitting patterns for each section of the car, that we then custom manipulate within the program to extend edges, wrap edges, delete side markers, or anything else we would want to do to hide the film as much as possible. This keeps a dangerous razor blade from the paints surface and creates a perfectly fitting and uniform installation, without any unnecessary stretch in the film. The coverage areas are then printed on the Graphtec Plotter and prepared for installation

Time for install! Cleanliness is of the utmost importance when installing large area clear bra. By controlling our environment we keep any unwanted debris from showing up in the final finish. Our installers wear paint suits, we run dust collectors constantly, and the shop is kept extremely clean.

Once the Clear Bra installation is complete, it is time for the Ceramic Coatings. For this project we chose GYEON quartz Q2 DuraBead. Q2 DuraBead is a two part system consisting of a separate Base Coat and Top Coat chemistry designed for serious protection and gloss.
