As the top of the line SUV in the Tesla range, the Tesla Model X Plaid is one of the best EV SUVs on the market today. With over 1,000 electric horsepower and seating for seven people, there’s not much else you need in a vehicle.

This Deep Blue Metallic Model X will be receiving Full Body Stealth Paint Protection Film, our Sides and Rear Ceramic Window Tint Package and our Level 2 Ceramic Coating System.

Step 1: Decontamination Wash

When the vehicle arrives, it will immediately fall into the hands of our professional detailers to give the car a thorough decontamination wash. We’ll get started by liberally applying GYEON Q 2 M Foam and Q 2 M Iron to pull off much of the surface grime before we move forward with a contact wash.

We always use the three-bucket method when washing a vehicle to reduce the risk of introducing scratches or swirl marks onto the vehicle. Our next step will be clay barring the Model X to remove embedded contaminants. Finally, we’ll dry the car with a BLO Car Dryer

Step 2: Ceramic Window Tint

Our professionally trained tinter will now take over to install our Sides and Rear Ceramic Tint Package. This package provides a high level of protection against harmful UV Rays. It also offers amazing heat rejection, keeping your cabin cooler during those hot summer months.

We will start by printing tint patterns for each window using a specialized computer program. Using a heat gun, we’ll shrink the film to match the window perfectly. After that, we can spray a slip solution onto the window and lay the tint down. Using a squeegee, we push the slip solution out and adhere the tint to the window.

Step 3: Stealth Paint Protection Film (PPF)

It’s time for this Model X to head over to the clear bra area of the shop where it will receive Full-Body Stealth Clear Bra. Tesla clear bra is a great way to protect your car from harmful elements such as road debris, bird droppings, rock chips and scratches. Stealth paint protection film comes with the added benefit of changing the finish of your vehicle to satin. This is also an excellent option for cars that have frosted paint from the factory.

Once we get our patterns printed, we’ll begin the installation by spraying the panel with a slip solution. The PPF is laid on the panel. Once the installers are confident that everything is properly lined up, they use a squeegee to adhere to film to the paint. We’ll work around the entire vehicle with this same method until everything is protected.

Step 4: Ceramic Coating

Now that we’re happy with another perfect clear bra install, it’s time to ceramic coat this Model X. It’s receiving our Level 2 Ceramic Coating System. There are many benefits of ceramic coating your vehicle. It protects your Tesla from UV Rays and chemical damage. Additionally, silicon dioxide ceramic coatings for cars have hydrophobic properties, making it extremely easy to clean the vehicle when it is time for a wash.

Since this Model X has full-body clear bra there is no need to do a paint correction, so we can move straight into surface prep. We’ll start by wiping the whole car with GYEON Q 2 M WaterSpot to remove any water spots left behind from the slip solution. The vehicle will also get wiped down with Q 2 M Prep to remove any remaining grease or lubricants left on the film.

With both of those steps done, we have a perfect surface to apply a ceramic coating. The coating will be put on a microfiber applicator in order to be applied on the car. We’ll remove the excess in a two-step process. First, we’ll wipe the panel with a short fiber towel to remove the majority of the excess and then we’ll follow that with a long fiber towel to get deeper into the paint and remove any remaining coating.

Finally, we’ll dress the tires and give the interior a quick vacuum and this Model X Plaid is ready to hit the streets completely protected and with an all-new satin look.
